Protect the Green River from International Corporate Interests
On Tuesday, November 14th, we attended a hearing in Green River, UT, to protest Blackstone Minerals’ filing for groundwater rights near the banks of the largest tributary in the Colorado River System. These water rights are for one phase of the company's “Paradox Project” — a major lithium extraction and exportation effort seeking rights totaling 11 billion gallons (30,000 afy) of Colorado River and Colorado River Tributary water each year.

Because of the state of Utah's failure to properly notify the public of the initial filing for Blackstone, you have another chance to have your voice heard. Tell the State Engineer that the water is not available.

The Colorado River and its tributaries ARE NOT a test-site for experimental mining plays by international corporations like Blackstone's parent company from Australia, Anson Resources, and its partner from China, Sunresin. We do not have enough information to show that this project will not harm the Green River, family farms, and ecosystems that's essential for the Colorado River System.

The State Engineer has extended the protest period until mid-December, and we need your help. Please sign and share the petition to tell the Utah State Engineer to deny these water rights until we have absolute proof that this mining operation WILL NOT consume or impair precious Green River water and harm the public interest.
