On behalf of the ASSETS’22 leadership team, we would like to invite you to volunteer for the ASSETS’22 Organizing Committee and help plan the next era of accessible conferences! Currently, we plan on returning to an on-site conference experience in the beautiful, historic Athens, Greece. To support our growing community’s needs and to retain some benefits of virtual access, we plan to also provide some aspects of the conference experience virtually. Together, we will determine what this might mean for ASSETS’22 and our community.

Final selections will be made by the General Chair with input from the ASSETS’22 leadership team and the SIGACCESS Executive Committee. For selections, we will balance attributes such as geography, disciplinary background, previous conference leadership experience, and previous history with ASSETS. We anticipate sending out invitations in November.

Virtual Co-chair. Responsible for envisioning & delivering virtual access to conference material and working with ASSETS’22 leadership team on deciding virtual access platforms and which parts of the conference to deliver virtually and/or in hybrid

Accessibility Co-chair. Responsible for ensuring that both the physical and virtual access to conference materials are accessible, including on-site physical access (hotel, talks, social events), the conference website and artifacts (papers, videos), and potential virtual content (e.g., streamed keynote).

Diversity and Inclusion Co-chair. The Accessibility Chairs typically focus on “physical, motor, and/or perceptual” access. The Diversity and Inclusion role focuses on inclusion more broadly: how to foment and support participation from individuals across different geographics, races, etc.

Mentoring Co-chair. Lead the ASSETS mentoring effort, which is currently focused on papers but could be expanded.

Publicity Co-chair. Help boost and support the visibility of the ASSETS conference both in helping advertise CFPs but also the conference itself.

Student Volunteer Co-chair. Student volunteers (SV) are critical to any conference experience. The SV Chairs help recruit, organize, and coordinate student volunteers.

TACCESS Special Issue Chair. Lead interaction between ASSETS and TACCESS; contact ASSETS authors & work with them on submitting TACCESS versions of papers

Best Artifact Co-chair. Help run Best Artifact awards at ASSETS

Poster/Demo Co-chair. Lead the Poster/Demo track: craft and send out CFP, coordinate reviewing amongst the Program Committee, manage selection and camera ready process, organize and run the poster/demo sessions themselves.

Doctoral Consortium Co-chair. Lead the Doctoral Consortium track: craft and send out CFP, review submissions, plan out DC structure and day, invite guest panelists, plan dinner. Seek external funding (typically NSF).

Workshop Co-chair. Work with the General Chair to envision and structure a new workshop track for ASSETS. Craft and send out workshop CFP, review submissions, and support accepted authors in planning and executing their workshops.

Student Research Competition Co-chair. Lead the Student Research Competition (SRC) track: craft and send out CFP, organize panel to review submissions, coordinate camera ready process, plan and run the SRC at the conference

Experience Reports Co-chair. Lead the Experience Reports track: craft and send out CFP, coordinate reviews and selections, work with Technical Program Chairs to incorporate Experience Reports into conference.

UX Panel Co-chair. Lead the UX Panel: determine a theme, find UX experts, run the panel at the conference
