This is the sign-up form for the 2nd Byte-sized RSE session in our second season which will cover web application developing in Django. The event will be hosted online via Zoom on Tuesday 5th December 2023, 13:00-14:30 GMT (UTC). The Zoom link will be emailed to registered participants shortly before the session.
This session will provide a basic introduction to web application development using Python's Django framework.
It will begin with some general background on web framework structures and then look at where Django fits in and its architecture.
After looking at the structure of Django and the different parts of a Django application, we'll move on to the interactive part of the session where you'll have a chance to build a simple Django web application from scratch!
Session prerequisites
You will need some familiarity with Python programming to get the most out of this session. You will also need Python installed on your computer - Python 3.8+ is recommended.
We will create a virtual environment in which to install Django for our simple demonstration web app so you some familiarity with Python virtual environments will also be beneficial.
