View + Points is a collaboration between the Shelter for Help in Emergency's prevention program and Lighthouse Studios. This project is funded by the Virginia Sexual & Domestic Action Alliance's Building Healthy Future's Fund.
INFORMATION:
Student participants for this project will work as a group to create a short, educational video about consent to be used in local middle and high schools. Participation is free.
Participants are asked to attend 4-8 project meetings that will commence on
Mondays at 4:30-5:30pm (dates TBD based on group availability).
- learn the dynamics of consent and boundaries
- discuss how using consent and boundaries are helpful in maintaining friendships
- share their thoughts on existing educational videos about consent and boundaries
- as a group, come up with a script for a three to five minute film about consent
- learn the basics of film-making, including the writing, filming, and editing process thanks to a partnership with Lighthouse Studios
- as a group, create their film!
