To be clear, I am not the original manufacturer - Ecosphere Associates went out of business in 2022. I am an ecologist specialized in closed ecological systems for space life support - I am leading a team that will send an Ecosphere to the International Space Station to observe the impact of microgravity on a self-sustaining aquatic ecosystem. Note that this is a bit different from the original Ecosphere. As part of our research, we've refined and updated the Ecosphere model ecosystem to be more stable. We've removed the sea fan decoration and added a living seaweed. The plastic beads and shells were replaced with crushed coral sand. We only include 3 shrimp, which was determined to be optimal for long term survival.

Price:

$250 USD, payable via Paypal/Venmo/Zelle

Shipping:

You mail me your ecosphere and pay shipping. I will pay shipping (and extras as necessary such as insulation/heat packs) to return it to you after the recharge.

Recharge:

Completely replace all of the contents of the Ecosphere. You will receive:

- mineralized brackish water

- chaetomorpha macroalgae tuft

- cycled aragonite sand

- 3 Halocaridina rubra shrimp

Refunds:
Typically none; All reasonable precautions for shipping (including padding and heating) are taken, but we cannot guarantee a safe delivery. Likewise, the survival of the ecosystem cannot be guaranteed.
