Hyderabad Children’s Theatre Festival
About the survey:

The corona pandemic has completely taken over our lives in 2020. Every person across the
globe, young or old, has been impacted. In India, over 320 million children have been away
from school. But that is not all. As parents and educators are well aware, children have also
been away from their friends, away from sports and outdoor play, away from recreational
activities and more.

All through the lockdown, parents, educators, social workers and artists have been working
on new strategies to keep children positively occupied. Theatre and arts based activities
have been steadily increasing their presence in methodologies being used across the board.
In this scenario, we at the Hyderabad Children’s Theatre Festival, are conducting this survey,
to understand how theatre can continue to be a part of the socio-cultural life of children in
our city. How we, as an arts organisation, through engagement with children, parents,
educators and decision makers, can better understand the situation and re-design our
theatre festival for children. Your responses in this survey will help us evolve, so we can
continue providing access to quality theatre performances to your children, in spite of the
pandemic.

At a time when we are all grappling with life, the arts have given us a space to stay
connected and inspired even though we are stressed. Literature, music, cinema, visual arts,
storytelling and theatre, have all given us much needed respite through the lockdown. Arts
engagements are also crucial to children’s emotional well-being, giving them a safe space to
understand the world around them as well as instilling hope for the future.

We thank you for giving us your time and support.
