2022 St. Louis Kidney Walk Volunteer Sign-Up

Join the National Kidney Foundation at the 2022 St. Louis Kidney Walk on Sunday, March 27, 2022, as a VOLUNTEER! NKF is in need of many volunteers for set-up, event activities, route directions and clean up. Volunteer shifts will span from 9AM-4PM. The event will take from 12:30PM – 4PM at the Westport Plaza. Each volunteer will get a volunteer shirt and should wear comfortable pants and shoes. The Kidney Walk is a rain or shine event. If there is inclement weather, volunteers will be emailed the evening before the event about changes to location or cancellation.

The St. Louis Kidney Walk is a non-competitive 1 or 2 mile walk in support of the National Kidney Foundation. The kidney and transplant community, donors, recipients, dialysis patients, families and friends, medical professionals, schools, civic groups and the entire community will celebrate life and support the Foundation’s mission to support the awareness, prevention and treatment of kidney disease for the millions at risk.

**LOAD | Friday, 3/27/20 | 1PM – 3PM | Assist in loading materials into van to transport to walk site. Volunteers may be required to lift items 5-25 lbs. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY WILL BE AT NKF OFFICE LOCATED AT 1001 CRAIG ROAD, SUITE 480, ST. LOUIS, MO 63146.

**UNLOAD | Friday, 3/27/20 | 3PM – 4PM | Assist in unloading materials onto walk site and setting up each area of the walk. Volunteers may be required to lift items 5-25 lbs. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY WILL BE AT WESTPORT PLAZA WALK SITE.

SET-UP | 9AM – 12:00PM | Volunteers may be required to lift items 5-25 lbs.

HOSPITALITY | 11AM-4PM | Ensure that the food tent is fully stocked with plates, utensils and that food is replenished in order to keep the line moving at a good pace.

INFORMATION/VOLUNTEER TENT | 9AM – 2PM | Check in volunteers and answer walker's questions.

MEMORY TENT | 9AM – 4PM | Set up Memory Wall and aid in helping walkers create loved one memorabilia.

REGISTRATION/T-SHIRTS | 11AM – 4PM | Volunteers will check walkers in at the kidney walk, accept donations, register any individual on site who have not previously registered for the walk, hand out t-shirts, and other incentives to walkers, and briefly describe the activities taking place.

MISSION AREA | 11AM – 4PM | Volunteers will give out educational materials about kidney disease and NKF to walkers.

VIP Area (12AM – 4PM.): Volunteers will check in VIP guests {those who have an orange wristband} and make sure they have a great time! 😊

KIDNEY KORNER | 12PM – 3PM | Volunteers will keep children engaged who attend the walk and monitor games in the area.

RECOGNITION BOOTH | 12PM – 3PM | Volunteers will distribute different color leis (each color lei represents a walker’s connection to kidney disease) to walkers and encourage walkers sign the Kidney Walk banner.

WALK MARSHALLS | 1PM – 3PM | Volunteers will direct walkers during the walk to keep them on course and ensure safety. Walk marshalls will also be responsible for drink stations and help put out and pick up walk route signage.

FINISH LINE | 1PM – 4PM Volunteers will cheer on walkers as they cross the finish line.

CLEAN UP | 2:30PM – 4:30PM | Volunteers may be required to lift items 5-25 lbs.

SIDNEY THE KIDNEY | 12PM-4PM: I want to be Sidney the Kidney and make people smile all day! 😊
