Discussion Group Member
Being a discussion group member is the second-most involved position after co-chair. It would include reading all the nominated titles for the <Elementary/Intermediate/Middle Grade/High School> section, proposing discussion questions, and taking part in all recording sessions. One of our goals this year is to have the same members in each episode, so please do not volunteer to be a discussion group member unless you can reasonably commit to these responsibilities.

Substitute Discussion Group Member
Exactly what it sounds like--plan on reading all the nominated titles for a particular age group, and if a regular discussion group member is unavailable for a recording session, you would be asked to fill in. This is a great option for those who want to take part in the discussion group, but are not prepared to commit to all recording sessions.

Promotion/Marketing
This would include drafting news announcements, social media posts, and flyers. A great option for someone with graphic design skills!

Read-alike Research
One feature of the podcast episodes is to provide a list of books that are similar to the nominees being discussed--perhaps the same author or illustrator, similar themes or plot points, similar kinds of characters, etc. We'd like to have X read-alikes for each title. This is a great option for anyone who loves reader advisory!
