     •  Meet the needs of the person who has been harmed;
     •  Provide a way for young people to be accountable for their actions without having to go through the court
        process;
    •  Reduce the racial and ethnic disparities in our legal system.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸:*
    •  For eligible cases, both the person who was harmed and the young person responsible for the crime will be
       offered the option of participating in a restorative process instead of going to court. This will be voluntary for
       everyone involved.
    •  When both people agree to participate, trained facilitators will prepare them for a meeting called a
       restorative conference.
    •  Other people may also be part of the preparation and the conference. This includes parents, guardians, or
       supporters of the main people involved, and other people who were affected.
    •  After thorough preparation, the facilitator guides everyone in a restorative conference. The group talks about
       what happened and creates an agreement about what the young person needs to do to make things right.
    •  When the young person completes the tasks in the agreement, the case will be closed.
