About the Registration Process
The registration process has two parts. You first register your child using this form. You will then receive an invoice by email that you have to pay before September 1, 2022.  Prices can be found on our website. Please note that you must complete both these steps for the registration to be complete.

This form has three parts. The first two (registration information and permission to save and share information with you online) are mandatory. In the third part, we ask a little about your and your child's Swedish at home as well as other Swedish studies and goals. That part is not obligatory but helps us understand the students' educational needs.

Please add the student's gmail address. This needs to be a gmail address. If you don't have one, please register for one. This is the email address we will use to share digital material. If your child is too young for an email, please add yours, but again, please make sure that it is a gmail.
Please share any other gmail addresses that should be added to the course folder on our Google Drive.

To keep costs as low as possible, we require 2-3 hours of volunteering per school year and family. If you don't have time, you can pay a CAD$50 admin fee. The volunteer tasks can be administrative, academic or social. We will send out an email about the volunteering tasks in the end of August.

Please share some information here about your child's interests and learning style. We welcome children with different learning needs, but prefer to know about them, so that we can accomodate them. We treat that information confidentially like everything else at the SMUL Academy.
Part 2. Privacy and Sharing of Personal Information
The SMUL Academy is part of the BC based not-for-profit organisation "Association of Swedish Beyond Borders - SMUL" (herein referred to as SMUL for short). We are required to follow the Canadian and BC specific privacy law. By answering these questions, you give us permission to communicate and share information with you. All information is confidential, unless you tell us so.
Storage of Personal Information: Do you consent to have SMUL store personal information about you and your child for administrative use, including communication and statistics? SMUL will not share your personal information with any third party without your consent.

Photo & Video Release Permission: Do you permit the use of select photos and videos of yourself and/or your child for purposes in connection with promoting  SMUL and its activities (herein referred to as "Purposes")? You understand that your personal information, including images of you and your child, is being collected pursuant to section 26 of the BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 165, for the Purposes. You also understand that the policy of the organisation SMUL is to always get consent to the final version of the marketing material before it shares any material with the public. Please note that you can ask to have photos and videos of you and/or your child taken down at any time if you give permission to share them with SMUL.

Part 3. Survey questions about your child's Swedish, and your expectations with regards to Swedish studies.
In the third, and final part of the registration, we ask a few questions about your child's Swedish and Swedish studies. We do this every year to better understand the educational needs of our students. This part is not obligatory, but will help us create and adapt our courses to what parents expect from us. Thank you!
