We ask that relinquishing your pet/animal to the Rescue be the absolute last choice. However, if you have exhausted all other options (overcoming the challenges with your animal/pet, or trying to privately find a new home), we can look at your situation and see if you meet our relinquishment requirements.
Surrendering your animal to our rescue means you are giving up all rights to that animal. We are not required to notify you of any development regarding health or status. Nor, will we give the animal you surrendered special treatment over another animal. OAR is typically unable to accept same day surrenders. Appointments are scheduled based on appointment availability, available space within the rescue. Appointments are required if you need to surrender your owned animal to the shelter.
