Basic info for the space and "what to bring" 🌿🌱
- The camp is in a natural environment, in a mountain settlement, so besides us human beings, there are also other creatures living there, such as smaller or bigger animals and insects -ferrets, foxes, rabbits, scorpions, snakes, spiders etc. This is their home and they live harmoniously in this environment having no desire to bother us nor harm us, except if we disturb them. In any case, we have cleaned the areas as much as possible and we have used sulfur. However, we must inform you that you should not pick up big stones, nor walk barefoot in the area, as well as to avoid standing by the stone walls. Also, please keep your tents well closed.Â
- Please do not have food or beverages inside your tents, nor in any other spot of the venue except for the dining area.Â
- All plates, cups and generally things from the dining area are for use only there, and not in your tents, on the platform, nor any other place.Â
- Please never leave exposed food in the dining area, nor in any other place.
- There is a first aid kit on site, however if you receive any special treatment, or have a specific allergy, it is essential to inform us and to have your medicine with you.Â
- The use of illegal substances is prohibited during the program.Â
- The consumption of alcohol in the venue is not allowed without the permission of the supervisors.
- Smoking cigarettes in the venue is not allowed. In case you really need to smoke we kindly ask you to do it only in the kitchen area, consciously and without disturbing non smokers, and always put it out in the ashtray and in any case on the ground.Â
- Lighting fires in the venue is not allowed.
- It is each one of us responsibility to keep the space and common use areas clean. We throw our rubbish only in the rubbish bins, food leftovers in the special bin, and always wash anything we use right after, to avoid inviting bugs and animals, and so everyone can enjoy a clean space!Â
- Please never throw any paper in the toilets, or any other object or material. All the water is being absorbed by the earth, and in addition there is a high risk of clogging the drain.
- The water from the showers is absorbed by the earth, that's why we only use biodegradable shampoos and shower gels. In case you do not have your own with you we have green soap available.Â
- If you need to wash your clothes you can do it by hand in the wash basins at the campsite, by only using green soap or some other natural cleaner and not using chemical soaps. There is green soap powder on site or you can use your own natural cleaner. You can inform us when you need to wash your clothes, and help you with it. Plus, there is a laundry shop in Nidri that you can visit.
- Power supply for charging phones opens every day for two hours, usually during classes or during meals. You can find the outlets in the dining area.Â
- Please respect the quiet hours during the day; 13.00pm-16.00pm and 22.00pm-06.00am we rest, or try quiet activities. Â
🌿
What would it be good to bring with me?
- Personal towel.
- Your water bottle - if it is one that keeps beverages cold even better!Â
- Comfortable clothes for practice. The temperature is generally high, and at night it doesn’t drop below 22 degrees so you don’t need to carry heavy clothes.
- Sports shoes or shoes that are comfortable for walking and movement practices. Don’t forget, we are in nature and the earth is rocky!
- Sun hat
- Sunscreen
- Swimsuit
- Insect/mosquito repellent. The place has mosquitoes mostly in the early morning and in the evening, so it’s a good idea to bring an insect/mosquito repellent. It can also be helpful to have some long pants.
- Biodegradable shampoo and shower gel. The water from the showers is absorbed by the earth, that’s why we only use biodegradable shampoos and shower gels. We recommend that you bring your own, however in case this is difficult to transport (e.g. due to the flight) we will also have some available for purchase.
- Toothpaste/toothbrush, face/body towel for personal use, and everything related to your personal hygiene. Please keep in mind that there is no mini market etc. in the village.Â
- Everything that will make your stay in the tent as comfortable as possible.Â
- Flashlight/Head or hand torch. The campsite is dimly lit at night with solar rechargeable lights. Plus, there is light in the wc/shower area. However, it is necessary to have your personal torch or flashlight.
- There is a first aid kit on site, however if you receive any special treatment, or have a specific allergy, it is good to have it with you.
We suggest keeping your answers short and concise.
