We invite you to apply to show your artwork or host a table with us at our upcoming event, A City Divided!
We encourage artists to share work that unpacks the divisive issues facing Chicago, why these issues divide us, and what can can be done to overcome them. 100% of profits will benefit nonprofits that address issues that divide us.
There are many issues that divide us… Race, Class, Gender, Segregation, (Gun) Violence, Gentrification, (Quality) Education, (Public) Housing, Recycling, Graffiti, Priorities for Improvement, (Use of) Budget, (Access to) Employment, Displacement, TIF Districts, (Machine) Politics, Food Desserts, Rent (Control)…
Some that seem to divide us, actually unite us… Cubs vs Sox, Parking Meters, Best Pizza Spot, Chicago(land), Dibs, Sweet or Hot Peppers, Sears Tower, Construction, Most Iconic Food Item, Pot-holes, Best View of the Skyline, Hot vs Mild…
Echoes of Chicago is a nonprofit whose mission is to create affordable, innovative arts and music events that promote Chicago culture and community, while raising awareness and funds for local nonprofits.
We are entirely volunteer-run and donate 100% of each event’s proceeds to local nonprofits.

Typically, 150-350 guests attend our events.
A City Divided 2019 will feature:

A marketplace featuring local Artisans and Businesses

YOUR PARTICIPATION:
While we make our best efforts to promote our events, we stress the importance of promotion to all our participants as well. We not only seek to provide an experience of local talent unlike any other, but also unique opportunity to network. We do the best that we can to promote each event, providing a platform for artists and creatives to get exposure and sell their work, as well as raise money for a good cause. Word of mouth is crucial to the success of each event but we at Echoes are only so many so... if you are going to participate, PLEASE tell people about it!
ARTISTS: Open For Submissions

Art Drop-off: Sat May 11th & Sun May 12th at an Echoes' member's home

Art Pick-up: Sun May19th // Hairpin Arts Center // 12pm to 3pm
•
Your work is limited to a 4'x4' Space (and require a 3" space between pieces)
•
$10 Hanging Fee
•
20% Commission (if your work is for sale and sells)
•
Must attend event
Please submit the exact work that you are planning on showing at our event. All of the information submitted will be authoritative, so please edit and save and pertinent information such as artist statements and profiles in another document and copy and paste into form. Please be careful of spelling and punctuation of all information as this will be used in our artist information packet.
