Criteria for the Frances Riker Davis Award:
- The Frances Riker Davis Award was created in 1967, as an annual honor for a Brearley alum who has been selflessly engaged in community and/or public service, and whose efforts have made a significant contribution to the lives of others.
- Brearley alums who are active in a broad range of arenas, through both individual and/or institutional initiatives, on local as well as global levels, are all appropriately considered for the honor.
- A hands-on approach is a key component of the FRD recognition, as is sustained commitment.
- The FRD Award can be given for work executed on either a volunteer or paid basis. In the early years of the Award's evolution, many of its recipients worked as volunteers. However, in keeping with the times, more recent awardees are often compensated for their work. For a list of prior honorees, click here:
