The event will take
place at John Marshall High School in Glen Dale, WV. All re-enactors must check in and sign waiver upon arrival. The event is free to all
reenactors. Reenactors will be provided
with bathroom facilities (porta-johns) and potable water. Re-enactors are
expected to be set up by 10am on Saturday, September 7, and ideally remain
until at least 4pm on Sunday. Set up can
take place on Friday, September 6 from noon to 7pm or Saturday, from 8-10
am. If you prefer to stay in a hotel, there
is a Sleep Inn and brand-new Holiday Inn Express in Moundsville less than 2
miles from the site. The site has
requested no fires and no discharging of weapons on school grounds. Depending on the number of reenactors, a
battle reenactment may be planned for the Cockayne Farmstead site, just across
the street. Pizza will be provided for registered
re-enactors during set-up on Friday evening.
A 1940s Swing Dance (tickets $10) will be held on Saturday evening at 7pm
at the St. Jude Parish Hall in Glen Dale, just a 5 minute walk from the event
site. Direct any questions to cockaynehouse@gmail.com or call (304) 845-1411.
