MIT PSAMP Signup (2022-23 Cycle)
Thank you for your interest in MIT! The PoliSci Application Mentorship Program (PS-AMP) is a volunteer initiative started by graduate students in the department, which aims to assist applicants from communities that have been historically underrepresented in higher education. This includes, but is not limited to: BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), non-cisgender individuals, members of the LGBTQIA+/queer community, individuals with disabilities, first-generation college students, and individuals from low-income backgrounds. If you think you fall into one of these groups but aren’t sure, we still encourage you to sign up!

The information you provide on this form will be used to pair you with a graduate student mentor and to better understand the demographics of the applicants we are reaching. It will not be shared with the PoliSci Admissions Committee and will be anonymised in a report to the MIT administration. Any personal information (e.g. race, gender identity, citizenship status) is voluntary. We will begin making pairings at the end of September to early October.

PS-AMP will accept applications on a rolling basis until 1 Dec 2022 to accommodate the department's application deadline of 15 Dec 2022. Participation in PS-AMP is optional and will not affect applicants' admissions decision.

This program is first-come-first-serve, meaning it will close if we run out of resources to assist participants. You will be notified if you submit this form and we cannot accommodate you.

If you have any questions about this process, please contact mit.ps.amp@gmail.com.
