This spring, the Office of Research Strategy and Development (ORSD in OVPR) is organizing two events to help you develop your full proposal for an NSF CAREER award (sponsor deadline: July 24): (1) an informational workshop focusing on broader impacts, and (2) a mock review panel of your full proposal.
To bring you these two events, ORSD works the other offices that comprise the Engaged Scholarship and Broader Impacts (ES/BI) Working Group. ES/BI helps faculty develop the broader impacts of their proposals, as well as optimize related outreach and engaged scholarship activities.
1. INFORMATIONAL WORKSHOP: DEVELOPING BROADER IMPACTS FOR YOUR NSF CAREER PROPOSAL (VIRTUAL) (Tuesday, April 4 from 12pm-1pm). Past awardees will share tips on developing the Broader Impacts section and workshop your questions in small breakouts with past awardees and members of the Engaged Scholarship and Broader Impacts (ES/BI) Working Group (a university-wide committee).
2. MOCK PANEL REVIEW OF YOUR NSF CAREER PROPOSAL (Week of June 24). Faculty who have joined mock peer review panels have had a high success rate for securing an NSF CAREER award. By joining a peer-review, you will:
