SVCC Student Government Association (SGA)  2025-2026

Overview:

Student Government Association Applications for Candidacy are now open for the 2025-2026 Academic Year.

The purpose of the STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION is to advocate and further the best interests of students at SVCC:

(1) establishing open communication on student issues and concerns,
(2) participation in the College’s shared governance,
(3) promoting student participation and engagement in college life, and
(4) developing a sense of pride and spirit for the SVCC community.

The SGA is composed of the following roles: 

  1. SGA Officers*:  President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer
    Officers must maintain a 2.5 cumulative SGA, be enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours each semester during their term, and be in good standing with the College at the discretion of the SGA Advisor and Interim Vice President of EMSS.

  2. SGA Senators
    The SGA Body shall be composed of up to four Senators to ensure representation of all SVCC locations, including online.
    Senators must maintain a 2.5 GPA, be enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours each semester during their term, and be in good standing with the College at the discretion of the S.G.A. Advisor and Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Initiatives or Vice President of EMSS.

*SGA Officer positions are eligible for stipends pending successful completion of duties and responsibilities.
