Extended Day Policy Change
Due to the weather, we have accumulated 3 snow days so far this year. As you know, we will be making one of those days up on February 19th, 2024. However, we still have two days to make up this academic year. We would like to make up these days prior to the end of the school year. In order to do this, one possibility could be to apply for a waiver from the state to adopt a different calendar for the 2023-2024 school year. We currently have 178 student contact days. If we are accepted for the waiver, we will change from a 178 school year to a 1,068 hour school year. This change would affect our school day by 15 minutes. We would add ten minutes to the start of our day, and five minutes on the end of our day. Our busses would run as normal in the morning, and our students would stay five extra minutes at the end of the day. By changing to this schedule, we would be able to make up the two snow days we have already accumulated.
