I. Introduction
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatu.

Welcome to WICC Masjid Assalam Weekend and After-School Weekday Program.

This handbook was created to provide both students and parents with an understanding of our mission as a school to provide our youth with proper Islamic education and guidance, Insha’Allah.

Educating our children, by instilling an Islamic way of life, is a cooperative effort involving parents, students, school staff, and our community.  It is important for all involved to work together and to support each other with

the mutual interest of instilling Islamic behavior and manners in our youth along with teaching them Islamic Studies, Quran understanding, and Arabic.
Our school staff will provide a supportive learning environment that includes these teachings as well as learning proper manners (Adab).

This handbook has been prepared to provide students and parents with information about the rules and regulations that govern all school activities.

Our students will be strongly encouraged to participate fully and follow the guidelines of responsible behavior found in this handbook.

Parents’ cooperation in this matter is vital to the success of the school. Please take the time to read through this handbook, review the student responsibilities and student code of conduct with your child, sign, and return the acknowledgment of receipt attached at the end of this handbook.

II. Mission Statement
To educate our students in the Oneness of Allah (SWT) by providing a broad understanding of all aspects of Islam, including the basic tenets of Islam and Qur’an understanding. And, to instill proper Islamic manners (Adab) that were taught to us by our most beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The purpose of the school is to strengthen our children’s Muslim identity by providing them an environment that is not conflicting with Islamic values.
III. Our Students
Admission is open to any student, male or female, ages 5 and up.

At this time, the school is offering four academic levels. A placement test will be conducted at the time of registration. Students will be placed in one of four levels, based on their age and scores of the placement test.  This test will assess their current knowledge in the areas of Islamic Studies and Qur’an understanding and Arabic. The decision about placement will be made by the Sheikh through consultation with the class teacher.

Students may be transferred from one level to another during a school year, depending on his/her progress.
