Survivormeet: 'Straya - Register Interest
G'day mates!

A little while back, we (DeasVail and stoive) floated the idea of an Australian survivormeet. To recap:

When?

Because of the significant travel distance for anyone from not-Australia, we've decided to narrow it down to June or July 2025 to give people plenty of notice/planning time etc. We're now seeking feedback on whether any particular general date ranges work better than others.

Where?

Whilst still not set in stone, we are still looking at the Blue Mountains as a likely location, which is about 2 hours by train from Sydney. stoive and DeasVail will cover accommodation costs, but we would recommend looking up the prices of flights etc. from your location to get an idea of travel costs.

Other deets:

We'd be aiming to have the meet last for about a week, to allow enough time for the Survivor game, as well as downtime for other activities and exploring the world heritage area that is the Blue Mountains (or wherever else we decide to have the meet).

We don't have a maximum number of attendees/players in mind at the moment, but would love to hear from anyone interested in helping with game design/general running of the game.

What now?

Now it is time to start figuring out some early details! We'd love your input in the following questions.

This form is not a formal registration to attend. Right now we're trying to get an idea of what works for most people. So, let's get to it!

Right now, how likely do you think you are to attend the Australian survivormeet? *

Of course I'll be there Duhhh
Where in the world would you be travelling from to get to the Australian survivormeet? *
Some details about where the survivormeet would be...

The initial thought is to have the meet in the Blue Mountains region just outside of Sydney.

Sydney International Airport (SYD) is the closest international airport. Direct flights from North America are available from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas and Vancouver (and possibly more), and typically take 14 to 15 hours. From Europe, flights typically take a bit over 24 hours including a short layover. If you're travelling from other parts of the world, you will know best how to get here ;)

We recommend looking up the cost of flights beforehand to get an idea of what it may cost for you. Google Flights is a great tool for this to see how the prices vary over seasons and with proximity of the booking date to the travel date.

The region is accessible via public transport (e.g. a 2 hour train ride from Sydney Central Station to Katoomba, the major town in the area) or via car (about 90 minutes). It is a well-established region for international visitors, so there's lots of services, accommodation, places to eat and drink, and activities for all tastes and interests.
Staring deep into the future for a moment, all the way to the year 2025... which general dates do you think would work for you for an Australian survivormeet?

Select all that apply. Your best guess is good enough. These are vague date ranges; the game itself will run over around 5 days, give or take.

Anything else on the question of "when?" that you want to share?
How long would you be hoping to stay in Australia on your trip to the survivormeet? *
Would you prefer the game run over the weekend, or during the week? Or, is either fine? *
The initial aim is for us to provide two separate venues as group accommodation options. How do you feel about this? *
How would you like to participate? *
Okay, what now?
We will take all of the responses into consideration and get back with more details!

The aim is for dates to be locked in with 12 months' notice, giving people plenty of time to find flights, arrange time off work, etc.

At around that time, an official registration form will be shared.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!
