Mindfulness Escape Room
This is a stressful time for everyone. Making sure you and your family are safe and healthy, adjusting to a new learning or teaching environment, supporting friends and classmates - these are just a few of the stressors we're all navigating. It is important in times like this to take care of yourself and your well-being. Mindfulness is a proven way to de-stress and bring calmness into your life, even for a moment. The following digital escape room takes about 10 minutes to complete and will help you relax!

To "escape" this room, we are going to try a number of breathing techniques. Some participants will be familiar with these techniques, for others it will be completely new. Either way, engage with each exercise. Read all the directions. Commit to each breath. There is a short space under each direction prompt to write how you feel after the exercise. This is not required but it is encouraged. If not in the form, on your own piece of paper or notebook.

To properly benefit from these exercises, find a comfortable seated position. It can be in a chair, on the floor, whatever is most comfortable for you.

This escape room was made by library faculty member Eyoel Delessa in consultations with the amazing teachers at the Cumberland Valley Martial Arts and Yoga Center, thank you for all the tips.

Sponsored by the Ezra Lehman Memorial Library. Well-being in a time like this is an information need.
