Flame of Solidarity with Ukraine

February 24 marks the year of the bestial aggression of the Russian regime against our sisters and brothers from Ukraine. A year of their heroic attitude, unyielding fight in defense of home and homeland has passed. In defense of a normal life in a sovereign country.

The fate of Ukrainians depends on their determination and courage, which faces the test of fatigue and despair, but a lot also depends on the reaction of the civilized world, on each of us.

On the tragic and heroic anniversary of February 24, we propose to light bonfires that will be a symbol of the fact that our indignation at those who murder Ukraine and our admiration for its defenders do not go out. The flame of our solidarity and commitment to helping refugee sisters and brothers does not fade away.

We light the fire exactly at 5:00 AM Ukrainian time

Starting from Rzeszów, involving various cities in Poland - we also want to be with you - people who believe in freedom and the victory of good from around the world!

Let's light that fire on Friday, February 24 at 5:00 a.m. Eastern European Time, because that's when Putin's army attacked Ukraine.

Actions will take place in various places in Poland - e.g. in Bielsko-Biała, Gorajec, but also outside Poland - Georgia and USA were first to join.

If you want to join the action, fill the form.

What should the organizer or organizer do?

The organizer can be anyone and each of us who has a bit of dedication to spend his/her time on organizing the simple action.

We encourage activists of social organizations to do so. local government authorities, all people with social or artistic imagination, people for whom the fate of Ukraine is particularly dear. Also Ukrainians who are all over the world.

Each and every one of us who wants to join the Flame of Solidarity should meet seven conditions

  • Register your event if your law requires you to do so,

  • Agree on a safe and attractive place for a bonfire with your municipality (e.g. by a river or lake), with easy access

  • prepare wood for a minimum two-hour bonfire, so as to wait until dawn;

  • take care of warm clothes, a thermos with hot tea, something to eat, thermal blankets ,

  • invite friends to the event, by phone, e-mail, and use social media (e.g. FB event);

  • propose and encourage others to prepare the program of the event, e.g. sing Red Kalina, develop slogans, but most important: collect individual and group voices of solidarity with Ukraine - they can be written, painted or audio and video recorded - collected them all,

  • be careful when lighting and maintaining the fire, react categorically to any irresponsible ideas,
