Sign up here for Confirmation class this year! Confirmation is the sacramental rite through which baptized Christians affirm their mature faith. Confirmands will serve regularly as acolytes (twice a month) and readers (twice during the fall/winter and twice during the spring) during church throughout the year, and attend monthly service activities* with other parish youth. Participating in the life of the church, in the liturgy and in service, is an important part of learning and claiming a mature faith. Confirmands are also encouraged and invited to attend Wednesday Night Bible Study meetings and the Redeemer Youth Group – scripture and fellowship are also important parts of life in the church!
We will meet regularly for class together for about 8 weeks in the spring; days and times will be set and shared in the winter. Confirmation will be held in May, exact date forthcoming. In the Diocese of Maryland, youth who are 15 (or turning 15 the year they are confirmed) may participate.
*Confirmands will meet members of RYG from 2-5 pm at Govans Presbyterian Church to serve alongside other volunteers at Soul Kitchen, their feeding ministry. The
folks at Soul Kitchen have been making beautiful, delicious, and
nutritious meals for their community for years, and we are so excited to
get to work with them this year!
Our Soul Kitchen schedule
is changing in 2024. Instead of meeting on first Sundays, we will meet
