Give the gift of comfort and love to a shelter pet by fostering a dog or cat through the holidays! We provide the supplies needed, you provide the love!
At pick up, we will match you with a holiday foster pet to spoil over the Christmas holiday. If you have a particular animal in mind let your foster match assistant know who you would like to foster. No matches will be made prior to the event due to adoptions constantly changing what pets are currently in the shelter. All animals over 6 months old are eligible for this event.

Friday December 22nd 8AM to 4PM Monday December 26th 11AM-3PM
Saturday December 23rd 11AM-2PM Tuesday December 27th 8AM-11AM
Sunday December 24rd 11AM-2PM
All animals must be returned to the shelter on Tuesday December 27th between 8AM to 11AM, early return times may be available on 12/26 by appointment, discuss this option with your foster match assistant at pick up. If you fall in love with your foster and simply cannot bring them back to the shelter, you must adopt your holiday foster pet by end of day Tuesday December 27th. Please return all supplies such as crates, carriers, and plastic litter boxes. The ONLY exception to this is if you foster an animal from the clinic requiring isolation and/or medical treatment in which case we encourage you to foster through their medication course.
The main purpose of this event is to give shelter animals a much needed break from the stress of shelter life and give these pets an opportunity to enjoy a taste of life in a loving home. For this reason, all participants MUST have the ability to keep their holiday foster pet separate from other animals in the case that they don't enjoy your resident pets as much as you do. We CANNOT guarantee that your holiday foster pet will get along with your resident dog(s) and/or cat(s) and will match you to the best of our abilities based on the info you provide about the human and animal members of your household. Dog introductions will be done by request only by emailing Dawn@LFAW.org and will ONLY be held on our main pick up day Friday December 22nd 8-4.
