Making Invisible Work Visible in Academia

Women professors and faculty of color experience marginalization and leak from the academic pipeline at alarming rates. A major factor in this phenomenon is the invisible work these professors are asked to perform (e.g., mentoring, service), even though engaging in a significant amount of this type of academic work can negatively impact their performance evaluations and promotion opportunities. In this workshop, we will explore strategies for managing and gaining recognition for the invisible work in academia.
