The Outstanding Administrator Award honours a current school administrator (Principal, Vice-Principal, Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent) who has made an outstanding contribution to music education (band) in Manitoba. An awards committee will select the recipient. The award will be presented at the Manitoba Music Conference in October.

In describing specifically what your Principal, Vice-Principal, Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent has done to support your school’s music program, the topics you may choose to address could include:

1. Advocacy - ensuring that staff in your school/division value and help to accommodate the needs of your program; attending concerts or other events; ensuring school board officials and trustees are exposed to your program; other

2. Finances - funding for instruments/equipment/facilities/music/trips/other

3. Timetabling - accommodating large groups or classes during the
day/pullouts/other
