Retreat Director Contact april.gutierrez@garrett.edu

Thank you for your interest in participating in the retreat. Through the generosity of a grant, the retreat will be of no out of pocket cost to you. The retreat will be facilitated by April Gutierrez, a doctoral student at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary as her Project Proposal, “Embodied Spiritual Practices for Brown and Black Bodies Exploring Sabbath.” She is hoping to learn more about your experience of Sabbath as Latinx and/ or Black young adults. You will have the opportunity to learn more about embodied spiritual practices and consider how you might create space for body and soul care when you return home. These practices of Sabbath will be rooted in a Judeo-Christian spirituality in conversation with Black and Latinx culture.
