Digital Horizon Masterclass:
Working Digitally as a Creative or Artistic Producer with Ruth Fabby

What will you do on the day?
Develop your knowledge in how to use technology to produce and promote your work in the creative sector. Gain confidence in your creative thinking and vision and identify skills and tools to achieve new ambitions. You will explore how to find the right market for your work, how to budget effectively, pitch to potential collaborators, and plan appropriately. You will also learn about funding, legal implications and safeguarding – and you will get to work on a production development idea, to bring all elements together.
Who is it for?
This is a Masterclass for participants who have had some training and experience in their art form and who wish to work as a producer. The Masterclass is not recommended for absolute beginners.
What do you need to bring?
Bring your own laptop (preferably) or tablet. A limited number of tablets available for loan but is preferable to bring your own; please let us know in advance if you need one.
Who is leading this Masterclass?
Now based in Wales, Ruth has developed an extensive career in inclusive arts practise across the UK, most recently as Director of Disability Arts Cymru (DAC) and Artistic Director of DaDaFest in Liverpool. Trading as ‘Ruffyarts’ Ruth now works freelance, as a producer, writer, performer, professional speaker and offers consultancy for disabled and d/Deaf artists. She received a Lifetime Achievement award from an Indonesian-based arts and disability organisation in 2023 was named one of 100 Change Makers in Wales for her work with Disability Arts Cymru. Ruth identifies with ‘deafness gain’ and is neurodivergent.
