Generational Pen Pals
The McDowell Public Library is working to connect people this Summer by pairing them with pen pals from different generations and other libraries from around the country. 

Here is the rundown for important dates during this program: 
April 16-May 20: Patrons can register 
May 21-27: We will pair pen pals and reach out to everyone participating 
May 29: Starting this day patrons can come pick up their Pen Pal Packets. (Packets include pen pal information, paper, envelopes, and suggested writing topics) 
June – July: Patrons are encouraged to write at least 3 letters to their pen pals 

How it will work: Patrons will register by going online to fill out the google form or by calling into the library. Once we have all the registrants, we will pair them up. Patrons will be given their Pen Pal’s name (first name, last initial, but not their address) as well as a little bit about their pen pal. Once you write your letter, you will return it to the library and we will mail it to your pen pal for you!
