The Online Olios are an annual webinar series produced and distributed In collaboration with the International Margaret Cavendish Society (IMCS) and Digital Cavendish (DC). 

This fall, we offer four panels on the topics of skin, mental illness, and the philosophy of gender in the early modern period. Each panel includes a mixture of primary disciplines, methodologies, and approaches, as panelists explore a particular puzzle or delve into an original reading of one or more primary texts/images by women writers of Cavendish’s period. The second hour of the webinar is devoted to small group discussion and full group discussion. These 2-hour webinars therefore serve as a timely offering on cutting edge research, while also providing introductory spotlights on themes and materials which can be used in class or assigned as preparatory material.

Before each webinar, the panelists may circulate a short selection of primary readings or images to registered webinar participants. These handouts will remain available after the live webinars through the Digital Cavendish’s pedagogy resources for viewers who are watching later, and in the future will be accompanied by student-centered teaching materials for classroom re-use.
