Thank you for your interest in helping to keep the Mattapan Mutual Aid Fridge in operation! The Fridge is located at 1290 Blue Hill Avenue (right outside Cafe Juice Up) and it gets a lot of love and use, but it also needs to be restocked and cleaned. Below you will find the information you need to volunteer to support our community and keep the fridge clean.

Guidelines for Cleaning:

1. Bring basic cleaning supplies - gloves, paper towels, disinfectant wipes, & small rag.  

2. Remove any food items that have perished or expired since the last cleaning. There is a garbage can outside the fridge that you can place the trash in and one at the end of the block.

3. Wipe down all surfaces inside the fridge. Please make sure that the food items in the fridge do not interact with chemicals of any sort in the cleaning process.

4. Organize remaining food items to make space for donations.

Guidelines for Donations:

We Accept: Fresh produce, non-alcoholic beverages, prepared foods that are securely packaged and clearly labeled with ingredients and the date of preparation, shelf-stable pantry items,

We Do Not Accept: Opened or partially consumed food items, prepared foods without appropriate labeling, alcohol, medicines
