Funding for this stipend is received through our Title IV-E contract with Virginia’s Department of Social Services. By applying for this Child Welfare Stipend, the applicant has indicated their interest in working in public child welfare during and post their social work studies. Public child welfare employment requires highly proficient social work skills, personal integrity, maturity, and a commitment to engaging and strengthening families in the child welfare system.
