All students have the ability to succeed in Math. It just requires a commitment to paying attention, making an effort on every assignment, ask questions, turn in work on time and re-do any work or test that had a low score. Most important of all: Never give up! If your student finds themselves struggling with an assignment or test, they need to make arrangements to meet with their teacher during advisory time or come to after school tutoring for help. *

Mastery of the state standards for math are required to be successful on math assessments and future math classes. For this reason mastery of the standards will account for 50-70% of the final grade. *

Students will be expected to work on this in class when they have completed other work, during advisory or on their own time.  Adjustments may be made for students as they progress to more difficult topics on the program.  *

The most important rule for school is to show RESPECT to the teacher, other students. and yourself.
The general school rules are listed in the school policy, but here are a few to keep in mind:
Be on time and in your seat with your materials, ready to work. See school tardy policy.
• Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself. If it’s not yours don’t touch it.
Follow instructions the first time they are given and don’t talk back or try to argue with the teacher during class.
• Raise your hand to talk and do not leave your seat without permission.
• No food, candy, gum or drinks except water are allowed
• Make-up, toys or any other objects that distract from schoolwork are not allowed in class.
No horseplay, hitting, throwing things, or other physical contact. These are safe school infractions and will be reported to administration immediately.
In order to protect instructional time, cell phones, earbuds and headphones are not allowed to be used in the classroom and should be stored in the student's backpack.

Citizenship grades reflect the students adherence to the rules, the effort put forth in the class, and the attitude of the student.  According to school policy, 1-2 rule infractions will earn the student an S (satisfactory) citizenship grade,  3-4 infractions will result in an N (needs improvement) and more than 4 infractions is a U (unacceptable).  Cheating, truancies and safe school violations* will result in an automatic N or U as determined by instructor.   *Please note that Safe School Policy infractions will be immediately referred to the administration. *
