The students have been told that if they come in and do everything with a positive and professional demeanor, showing interest and acting engaged, they will earn a 3 out of 5. Above-average or stellar performance will warrant a score of 4 or 5. Subpar or unacceptable performance will result in a score of 1 or 2.

Don't think you have to give everyone 5s because they showed up and followed directions. The grades are weighted in a way that protects the students from outlier scores and provides a final professionalism grade based on their cumulative shift performance.
