Pride Rock Camp is a week long music camp for queer, gender variant, gender non-conforming and allied youth ages 10-17. Youth and volunteers come from near and far to join their peers in this unique and imperative program. Pride Rock Camp amplifies the voice of a population that is usually silent — allowing youth to be loud and to express themselves honestly and authentically through music.

This is a camp like no other - you will make new friends and gain newfound confidence that will positively impact a camper for a lifetime.

MISSION STATEMENT
Pride Rock Camp empowers LGBTQ youth and allies while building community through musical collaboration in a safer space. We support the fluidity of gender, sexuality, and identities and provide educational workshops and music education to amplify confidence, creativity and self-expression.

Pride Rock Rochester’s summer camp is a week long program that uses music as a vehicle for personal growth and positive change. During the week campers take instrument lessons, create DIY media, write original songs in a band with other campers under the guidance of a band coach, and participate in daily workshops and assemblies.

Workshops cover a wide variety of topics from songwriting to music business, social justice, zine making and more. 

Our priority is to create a camp space that is loving, safe, empowering, and inspiring for all campers to exercise their true authentic selves and contribute their own unique talents and experiences. 

Camp activities begin at 9 AM and end at 4:30 PM each day. Campers may be picked up as late as 4:45P.  Instruments will be provided to all campers and no musical experience is required!

When: Monday, August 5th – Friday, August 9th;  Showcase Saturday, August 10th.

Tuition: Full tuition is $375. Financial aid is available upon request and is based on a sliding scale. We try very hard to make sure camp is accessible to all youth. There is a financial aid application included within our camp application.
