The new Centre for Liberal Education (CLE) to conduct and administer the undergraduate program on ‘Liberal Arts, Sciences and Engineering’ (LASE) has come into being with the approval of IIT Bombay BoG.

The LASE program is a multidisciplinary undergraduate program of study and will commence in the session starting July 2022 (Autumn). It will start with 30 students taken from the existing B.Tech. Program.

To begin with CLE will have associate faculty drawn from other academic units. There are several modes of association available as outlined in the covering mail:

1. Teaching (foundation/seminars/tutorials/new courses)
2. Advising
3. Final-year project supervision
