APPLICATION FOR A NURSERY PLACE
If you wish to apply for a nursery place for your child, please complete this form and we will put your child on our waiting list.
Children may be placed on the Nursery waiting list from the age of two years and we usually admit children to the Nursery in the term after their third birthday.
Places at the Nursery are for 5 mornings for the N2 children (8.40-11.40 am) or 5 afternoons for the N1 children (12.30-3.30 pm) term-time only. The morning and afternoon nursery offers differing provision to cater for our oldest and youngest children in nursery. If your child is offered an afternoon place, they will then transfer to the morning nursery the September after they start.
Places at the Nursery are firstly offered to children who live in the school's catchment area and then to those out-of-catchment with older siblings already in school (and where an older child will still be attending OBS when the nursery child is due to transfer to full-time education). If there are still available places, these may be offered to out-of-catchment children, based on distance from the school. This is in line with the School Admission Policy.
If you do not live in the catchment area, we advise that you put your child on the waiting list for other nurseries as we cannot guarantee an offer being made for Old Basford.
Attending the Nursery does not guarantee a place in school when your child is due to transfer to full-time education.
In Nottingham City, all children start school in the September of the school year in which they turn five years, and applications for school are made directly to Nottingham City in the November-December of the previous year.
If the child is offered a Nursery place at Old Basford, it is made on the understanding that Old Basford School will be the provider for the Universal Entitlement of 15 free hours. If you are eligible for the 30 free hours, then any hours taken at our setting or with an alternative provider will be the Extended Funded Hours.
