[VOLTA] Open Class | sign - up
Studio Jefta van Dinther is pleased to present [VOLTA]. An exciting opportunity for dance professionals in the field of performing arts to partake in free open classes in movement research and other physical techniques. Participants join the current production cast in intimate classes, hosted by a network of industry professionals who focus on various practices, ranging from Yoga, Hunyuan Qigong, Middendorf, Klein Technique™ to pilates and breathing sessions. Practice and technique require repetition and variation, in order to make turning points in the development in the fields of dance. With [VOLTA], we want to set up an open space for exploration and experimentation, in, and through movement.

There are only limited spaces available, so we ask that you please cancel your booking by emailing us if you can no longer attend the class.

ABOUT ANNA NOWICKA
Anna Nowicka is a choreographer and dancer based in Berlin and Lüdersdorf (Brandenburg) working with dreams and embodied imagination. She aims at unfolding the body into a resourceful, alive, ever flowing entity, able to be responsive and present. Graduate of the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD), MA Choreography at the HfS Ernst-Busch / HZT in Berlin and MA Psychology at the Warsaw University, she wrote her practice-based PhD on embodied awareness as the foundation for being present at the Polish Film School in Łódź. She is a certified Saphire® teacher of Dr. Catherine Shainberg’s “The School of Images'', and a faculty at the International Institute for Dreaming and Imagery, where she directs the Dream Your World® Kids program.

PRACTICE - “Dancing dreams”

is research on how to instantly transform night dreams into choreographic situations, building a sense of community, intimacy, and openness. I am exploring how to best create circumstances, in which participants can trustfully share their dreams, and reflect upon the deeper meaning of their night adventures. “Dancing dreams” is a format that is both choreographic and participatory, spectacular and educational, allowing for intimate connections and a sense of belonging.

If you are curious to live the latent potential of your dreams, these two sessions are for you. Bring a recent night dream, some colourful pens and papers, comfortable clothes to dance and curiosity about where this can take us. We will be embodying each other’s night journeys, responding to dreams’ necessities, and moving into the space of new possibility.

***

The research of "Dancing dreams" is supported by Fonds Darstellende Künste with funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media within the program NEUSTART KULTUR.
