Code.org & Tinkercad Parent Permission
Dear Parents / Guardians,

This year your child will have the opportunity to use Code.org and Tinkercad, web-based tools used for web-based coding and CAD design. Before implementing these programs into my class, we need your permission, based on our policies and our commitment to digital citizenship.  It is also important that you are aware of how I will support your child when using Code.org and Tinkercad and how these resources connect to their learning.

In order to ensure that your child, their personal information, and their schoolwork are all safe while using Code.org and Tinkercad, I have thoroughly reviewed its Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.  This rigorous process “vets” the resource to verify the following:

Your child still owns their data.
The resources will not sell your child’s data.
The resources will not share your student’s data unless it is with a 3rd party explicitly for purposes of operating the resources. (For example, when an Amazon order is fulfilled by a 3rd party seller, the seller receives your payment information.)
The resources are fully compliant with the Child’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
The resources are age-appropriate.
The resources do not display excessive or inappropriate advertisements.

While I have verified the safety of this resource, you can view the Terms of Service and Privacy Policies at code.org and tinkercad.com.

I am excited for the opportunities Code.org and Tinkercad will provide our class.  If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me.
