To provide some guidelines and help around criteria we have created a list of key words the judges will be looking for. You DO NOT need to include all of these in your nomination, the below are just some pointers to help guide with the nomination process.

The following criteria should be considered:
  • Community: The judges will consider how the nominee have engaged with their local community within Greater Manchester and shared social values.
  • Sustainability: The judges will review how the nominee have considered and addressed sustainability in their projects, including recycling and eradicating as many single-use materials as possible.
  • Humanity: The desire to promote the welfare of human beings collectively. To understand that charity is not the tax-effective giving away of a small part of one's wealth, but people with little sharing whatever they do have to give.
  • Equality: To treat everyone with fairness and respect, and recognising the needs of individuals. All humans enjoy the same rights, resources, opportunities, and protections no matter where they comes from.
  • Inclusivity: The practice or policy of including people who might otherwise be excluded or marginalised, such as those who have physical or mental disabilities and members of minority groups.
Shortlisting

There will be a shortlisting process by a judging panel and a live public vote pre event (50/50 split) for all nominations with a winner for each category announced live on the event evening. The shortlist in each of these categories will be determined and informed by mid-September 2023. If you are shortlisted you will be contacted by a member of the events team to inform you about next steps.
