MSL Data Use Proposal Submission
To request use of an MSL data set, please complete this proposal.  Although an online form, please note that this is a formal proposal to request use of the dataset.  Therefore, we ask that you include thorough and thoughtful responses to prompts that can help us to understand whether 1) the MSL dataset can address your research aims/questions and 2) determine the degree to which this request overlaps with existing team research projects.

It will be helpful to first read through the form and then compose responses offline before completing the form.  Because many people may have questions about the proposal or will want to talk through precise variables to request, you can set up a meeting with the MSL Co-PI, Dr. Ben Correia-Harker, to discuss your proposal.  You can schedule a consultation call with him here.

Note: Once approved, you must pay the $500 access fee before the data can be delivered. Your data set will be delivered within 10-15 business days following receipt of payment.

Please list every variable by variable name (e.g., DEM10C) you will need for your analysis.  Please contact us at MSL@expandingleadership.org for a list of MSL variables available for the year of the dataset in which you are interested.  

Be careful to include every variable you will need for your analysis in that we cut the data to provide only what you need.  Also, only ask for what you need; if variables requested do not seem relevant to the study, we will reach out to ask why you need certain variables.  If you accidentally do not request all of the variables you need and we have to recut the data, you will be assessed an additional fee.  

Also, please note that we do not provide any identifiable information at the individual or institutional level per IRB requirements.
