Thank you for your interest in the Maine Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP). VLP is a legal aid organization that recruits volunteer lawyers to provide free legal information, advice and representation to Mainers with low incomes who have civil legal problems. Volunteer attorneys play a crucial role in promoting access to justice.
VLP offers both full and limited representation pro bono opportunities. We also offer the Justice Andrew Mead Fellowship for Pro Bono Service to new members of the Maine Bar and provide support to inactive and retired attorneys applying for emeritus status and to attorneys licensed in other jurisdictions who wish to apply to be permitted to do pro bono with VLP.
If you are interested in learning more about volunteering, the Fellowship, emeritus status, options for attorneys licensed in other jurisdictions, or in signing up to volunteer, please complete the form below and a VLP team member will contact you. We look forward to connecting with you!
If you are looking for help with a civil legal issue, please visit our website at Maine Volunteer Lawyers Project (vlp.org) for more information about our services and fill out an Intake Request Form. We cannot respond to requests for legal help submitted through this form.
