Impacts of radio frequency interference
The Australia Telescope Users Committee has recommended that we organise a questionnaire on radio frequency interference (RFI) in order to broadly survey the user community on current issues and challenges related to RFI.  The answers will be used to identify areas of greatest community concern and establish next steps. There will be followup communications/meetings as appropriate to draw out the required information and actions.

Here we define RFI as any unwanted, non-astronomical signal.  This includes traditional forms of RFI such as aircraft, satellite, mobile phone, WiFi, signals etc. as well as instrumental artefacts and self-generated RFI from the instrumentation on site.

If you make use of more than one ATNF telescope then please repeat the survey as needed.

Anonymous responses are fine, but if you are happy to be contacted with follow-up questions about points that you raised then please provide your name/email here.
Your responses primarily refer to which of the following telescope sites
Clear selection
Please describe your typical observing mode at this observatory (e.g., pulsar folding with Parkes, L-band imaging observations with ATCA, OH studies with ASKAP)
How often do you use the specified telescope in this mode?
Clear selection
Does RFI significantly affect your science research?
Slightly annoying
Science is impossible
Clear selection
Please describe how the RFI affects your science result
What do you do if your data are affected by RFI? Please select all that applies
What RFI mitigation tools/methods/techniques are you aware of. Which, if any, have you used and how effective have they been?
Have you made use of any existing ATNF information relating to RFI? If yes, please provide details (e.g., online RFI monitor, observatory-hosted RFI webpages)
Do you see evidence that RFI may be impacting your data in ways that can't be corrected post-observation?

Would more documentation and/or training relating to RFI be useful? Please select all that apply
Would you have any concerns about automatic RFI mitigation routines running during your observation?
Please provide any further information relating to RFI that you feel may be useful to the CSIRO Space & Astronomy RFI working group
