Seeing CU Boulder Through An Entirely New Lens: The Perspective of People with Disabilities As Provided by The Association for Students with Disabilities.
Description: The Association for Students with Disabilities is a registered student organization focused on building a sense of community and connectiveness amongst disabled students at CU Boulder. We achieve this through weekly meetings where we discuss individual struggles and broader issues encountered by those in the disabled community.  Given the nature of our organization, we have a comprehensive understanding of the challenges students and staff with disabilities face and could provide a valuable perspective to the disability symposium.

Our proposal focuses on a detailed question and answer session hosted by our organization. This would be in a panel format where several representatives would answer questions by students and staff in the audience. We will also have a moderator to introduce panel members and facilitate the Q&A. We’ll specifically focus on several topics of interest that will help attendees better understand the perspective of disabled students at CU Boulder. Topics of discussion (with necessary background) include:  Communication, Listen and Learn, Addressing Accessibility, and Intersecting identities. Through this panel, we’ll help attendees better understand the lived experiences of disabled students at CU Boulder.
