TOGETHER IN JESUS: FIRST RECONCILIATION:  We can express forgiveness in two ways; through our words and through our actions. Think about what you do when you feel sorry that you did something wrong. You might go to the person you hurt and using words say you're sorry or you might through your actions, like giving someone a hug, tell them you are sorry. In our reading today "God Forgives Our Sins" let's read about how words and actions are used in the Sacrament of Reconciliation when our sins are forgiven. When you are done, please answer the questions below.

You are a superstar!! Sin makes us unhappy and feels heavy. Jesus didn’t want us to feel this way. He wanted us to be free from sin. He wanted us to be able to go to Reconciliation and have our sins forgiven. At the moment of absolution, as the priest extends his hands over you, Jesus is pouring his grace upon you. This is like a bucket of love pouring down upon your head and filling your heart with peace and joy. God’s grace helps to empower you to make better choices. Because God forgives us, Jesus wants us to forgive one another. Now it is time to locate your "I Forgive You" cross sticker and place it on the page in the area marked.
LEARNING ABOUT THE TEN COMMANDMENTS: We are just about done exploring our Ten Commandments. In today's lesson we are looking at the 9th Commandment "You shall not covet your neighbors wife." Before you read this commandment you need to understand what the word covet means. Covet is a strong desire that motivates people to become possessive of someone or something. You must be careful that what is inside your heart is good and healthy and that you always respect people by not treating them as objects we use as we please. After you read the 9th Commandment, please answer the questions below.

God wants us all to give respect and support to husbands and wives. Be sure to read over carefully the "I examine my conscience" questions to see how you can avoid breaking this commandment. When you are done, locate your 9th Commandment sticker and place it on the circle on page 13.
Super great job!  I want you to remember that "Reconciliation is a Celebration." It is a celebration of God's power to make all things new for us!! We will continue to learn more about this celebration as we continue our lessons!
