Thank you for your interest in teaching at Renaissance School of the Arts! Our instructor/course proposal process consists of 2 parts.

1) This Instructor Application Form, which should be filled out first

2) The Course Proposal Form, which you will fill out separately for each class you are interested in teaching


The Priority Deadline for submitting these forms is March 9, 2024. Our class selection committee will give scheduling preference to proposals submitted by this deadline; late proposals will be considered if there are schedule openings.

Tuesday Availability: RSA's Tuesday classes are held from 10am-5pm, at St Andrew Presbyterian Church, 1885 Bridge Rd, Suffolk. Please indicate what times on Tuesdays you are available to teach. *

Thursday Availability: RSA's Thursday classes meet from 10am-5pm at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 1589 Steeple Dr, Suffolk, and nearby buildings.  Please indicate what times on Thursdays you are available to teach. *

Total Classes: If you are proposing multiple courses, how many classes total are you willing to teach? (for example, if you are proposing 4 courses, but would only like to teach 2 classes, please put "2" here, and indicate your top 2 preferred courses in the proposals, so our course selection committee can take this into account)
Total Students: If you have a per day minimum enrollment requirement for the total number of students in all of your classes, please provide that number here. (example: An instructor may need to have at least 30 students enrolled in their Thursday classes to make it worth their time/travel costs to RSA; provide that number here if applicable. Note: This is a different requirement than the minimum enrollment for each individual class, which you will have opportunity to list in each course proposal.)


Late Fee Policy: RSA's monthly class fee schedule has families pay Instructors every 4 weeks that classes meet; and a recommendation that instructors charge a late fee of $5 for payments received more than 1 week late.

By submitting this Instructor Application, you acknowledge that should you be offered a teaching slot, you agree to do a Background Check arranged by RSA (if not done previously), pay an annual instructor fee of $35 to cover administrative expenses, and follow RSA policies as explained in the Member Handbook and Instructor Addendum.
