Goal: Strengthen and Expand the Teacher Workforce in the Vermont.
GrowVT-Ed is perfect for new educators who:
*Have been hired to teach on a provisional license
*Are supported in their work by a trained mentor teacher
*Have limited education courses in their college background but content knowledge aligned with their area of teaching
*Are committed to do the work necessary to become a Vermont Licensed educator including the Peer Review Portfolio and required Praxis Exams
GrowVT-Ed Academy includes:
*Orientation - August 10th (online) 9am-noon or 3pm - 6pm.
*Weekly seminars - Thursdays, 3:30-4:30 or 7pm - 8pm, Beginning October 5th (Virtual)
*Seminars address VT Core Teaching Standards and Teaching area Competencies
*Peer Review Portfolio Development embedded in seminars
*Ongoing, Individual and Group Support
*Facilitation by National Board Certified, Vermont-NEA Teacher Members
*3 Credits through Vermont State University-Castleton
*All seminars are virtual and will be recorded for asynchronous viewing, if necessary.
*Dedicated Writing Days for portfolio development throughout the year
Cost:
Teachers: $2000 - 3 credits through Castleton University; $1565 without Castleton credit. - Teachers will utilize their contractual PD funds for the class (no out of pocket expense) Support Staff: May Audit
