Which are my tasks as a host?

The concept of IW implies that it is completely free for international students. That's why the participants are going to be hosted by local students from Cologne. This would be your job! If you do not have a bed, your guest can also sleep on a couch or mattress. Moreover, you should provide him/her a little breakfast in the morning and attend at least the welcome and the farewell ceremonies (4th & 13th of November in the evening). However, we would like you to attend as many events as possible during the week.

You as a host would also have the great opportunity to take part in the versatile program during the IW Cologne and make unique and often long-lasting international friendships! Furthermore, you'll have a bigger chance to go on an IW yourself.

COVID-19 Situation: We expect the IW to happen physically due to ongoing vaccinations and therefore expect less regulations. If this won't be the case we will aim to organise the IW Cologne 2021 as an online format between the 05.11.2021-07.11.2021 and your obligation as a host is not necessary anymore.
