After viewing the training video on the Roles and Responsibilities of the School Governance Team, please complete the verification form below.  Verification of orientation completion is a prerequisite to being appointed or elected to a School Governance Team in Fannin County.

Qualifications for election or appointment to a School Governance Team include:   1.  Those serving as a parent or guardian must have a child enrolled at the school during their term of service. 2.  A parent/guardian member may not be an employee of the school where they are serving; 3.  Only one family member may serve as a voting member on an SGT at any one given time; 4.  No one person can serve on more than one SGT at any given time;  5.  SGT members must be 18 years of age or older, with the exception of the non-voting, principal-appointed high school SGT members.

If you are interested in serving as a parent, please click the box of the school where you are eligible to serve.  To be eligible to serve you must be the parent or guardian of a student who will attend that school in 2021-22.  School system employees cannot serve as a parent representative at the school where the employee works.  By selecting a school, you are authorizing the principal of the school to add your name to the election ballot this spring.  All five schools have one parent seat open for election. *

If you are interested in serving as a community representative, please click the box of the school where you would like to serve.  Preference is given to those who are not eligible as parent or guardians.  Staff members are not eligible to serve as community representatives.  By selecting a school you are notifying the principal of the school of your willingness and eligibility to serve.  Community members are appointed to the SGT; they are not elected.  All five schools have one seat open for appointment in 2021-22. *
If you are employed at one of the schools and would like to be considered for service on its School Governance Team, please indicate the school where you are eligible to serve.  The elected staff member seat is available at West Fannin Elementary and Fannin County Middle School.  The appointed staff member seat is available at Blue Ridge Elementary, East Fannin Elementary, and Fannin County High School.  Clicking the box beside a school that is holding an election is authorizing the principal at that school to add your name to the staff election ballot. *
